I know the title sort of gives the topic away, and that once again I am going to promote free education to which from now on I am going to refer to as Education 2.0. That pretty much defines this new trend in education, namely free courses for everyone interested. Now, KhanAcademy was introduced to me by a friend on Facebook (T. K., thanks for sharing), a study-partner if you may on a Computer Science group. In brackets, I’d like to mention, that study groups while might seem the nerdy approach to learning stuff, are indeed really helpful. Now that being said, KhanAcademy is one of the pioneers of Education 2.0. Just like other similar websites, this also offers a great collection of courses. In short this is what best (self)describes KhanAcademy:
Learn almost anything for free.
With over 3,200 videos on everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and hundreds of skills to practice, we’re on a mission to help you learn what you want, when you want, at your own pace.
So, all in all, a pretty cool place to look for study materials both for teachers and students. Also, to make this post stand out from the others I am going to share with you a nice presentation video about KhanAcademy. Enjoy!
